Most of the products we sell at [[store_name]] come with a warranty from the manufacturer. This page explains how that warranty works, what it usually covers, and how we help you if something goes wrong.
The manufacturer's warranty
[[store_name]] sells products made by other companies (the "manufacturers"). Each manufacturer provides its own written warranty for its products. That warranty is a promise from the manufacturer, and the manufacturer decides how a claim is handled: repair, replacement or another remedy, as set out in its warranty terms.
Warranty length and coverage are different for every brand and, sometimes, for every product. The exact terms are in the warranty document that comes with your product or on the manufacturer's website. Where we have the information, we also show it on the product page. Please read it when your product arrives and keep it with your invoice.
When coverage begins
Coverage normally starts on the date your product is delivered, or on the date stated in the manufacturer's warranty. Keep your order confirmation email. It is your proof of purchase and shows the date of delivery.
What is usually covered
- Defects in materials or workmanship that appear during normal household use.
- Parts and, for many products, labour needed to repair a covered defect, within the warranty period.
What is usually not covered
- Damage caused by misuse, accidents, abuse, or not following the instructions in the manual.
- Problems caused by incorrect installation, an unsuitable gas, water or electrical supply, or work done by someone who is not qualified.
- Normal wear and tear, scratches, dents or other cosmetic damage that was not reported when the product arrived.
- Filters, bulbs, seals, racks and other consumable parts, unless the manufacturer says otherwise.
- Commercial or business use, unless the manufacturer's warranty states that it is covered.
- Products that have been changed, repaired or opened by anyone other than an authorized service provider.
- The cost of removing, uninstalling or reinstalling a product, or of carrying it into or out of your home.
These are general examples. The manufacturer's own warranty terms are the ones that apply.
Products are sold for use in Canada
We sell and ship to addresses in Canada only, and our products are intended for use in Canada. Some manufacturers only honour warranties for products used in the country where they were sold. If you move your product outside Canada, the warranty may no longer apply.
How to make a warranty claim
- Gather your details. You will need your order number, the product name and model number, the serial number (usually on a label inside the door, on the back or on the side), and the date of delivery.
- Contact us. Email [[email]] or call [[phone]] ([[hours]]). Tell us what is wrong and include clear photos or a short video if you can.
- We help start the claim. We will contact the manufacturer or its authorized service provider for you and let you know what happens next. Some manufacturers need the owner to speak to them directly, and if so, we will tell you who to contact and what to say.
- Service. The manufacturer or an authorized technician will decide whether the product is repaired or replaced, following its warranty terms. Please do not attempt repairs yourself, because that can void the warranty.
Damaged or wrong item on arrival
If your product arrives damaged, has missing parts, or is not what you ordered, that is not a warranty claim. It needs to be reported quickly. Please see the damage section on our Shipping & Returns page for what to do, including the 24-hour reporting period.
Installation and service
Appliances should be installed by a qualified professional, especially gas, electrical and plumbing connections, and in line with local codes and the manufacturer's instructions. Incorrect installation can cause damage and can void the warranty. Installation, removal, and haul-away are not included in the price of your order, and they are not covered by the warranty, unless the manufacturer says otherwise.
Registering your product
Some manufacturers ask you to register your product, or give extra coverage when you do. Check the paperwork that came in the box.
Your legal rights
This page describes the manufacturers' warranties and how we help with them. It does not limit any rights you have under the consumer protection and sale of goods laws that apply where you live.
